Ouachita Council on Aging Policy

The Ouachita Voluntary Council on Aging is committed to serving senior residents of Ouachita Parish. Activities and services are open to seniors age 60 and older without regard to race, color, religion, or national origin. We hope our participants will find OCA and Carolyn Rose Strauss Senior Center a friendly place where they may come to recreate, socialize with others, access helpful services and find intellectual stimulation.

The Ouachita Council on Aging cannot serve at its Senior Center (Carolyn Rose Strauss) and activity/satellite sites those individuals who have a contagious disease or who are dangerous to themselves and/or others.

The Ouachita Council on Aging cannot serve at its Senior Center (Carolyn Rose Strauss) and activity/satellite sites those individuals who are bedridden, are severe wanderers, require continuous one-on-one monitoring, or who require assistance to utilize bathroom facilities unless individuals provide their own competent attendees. Those persons are eligible for in-home services provided directly by OCA or its contractors.

The Ouachita Council on Aging has established a Code of Conduct to ensure a warm and supportive environment for all who participate and work at OCA and the Carolyn Rose Strauss Senior Center. We trust the guidelines will allow participants to feel at ease, create an enjoyable atmosphere for all, and protect the facility for the entire community. This code of conduct is posted at, and applies to, all dining/activity sites operated by the Ouachita Council on Aging throughout Ouachita Parish.
